Inauguration of the Sports Festival
On Saturday, in Kurukshetra, Haryana, Naveen Jindal, a Member of Parliament from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), officially opened the Sansad Khel Mahotsav.
During the event, Jindal expressed his excitement about the increasing interest among young people in the MP Sports Festival. He underscored the significance of sports in fostering national unity, encouraging youth engagement, and aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for a drug-free India.
Significance of the Festival

He further added, “This year, we are witnessing even greater participation, and I encourage everyone to engage in this initiative. Through sports, we can significantly contribute to our Prime Minister's vision of a drug-free society and empower our youth.”
Support from Paralympic Athletes
Navdeep Singh, a gold medallist from the Paralympics, commended the Sansad Khel Mahotsav for offering grassroots athletes a platform to display their skills.
He pointed out the importance of such events in discovering talented players and facilitating their journey from local competitions to state, national, and international levels.
Future Aspirations
Singh stated, “It’s fantastic to see competitions aimed at grassroots athletes, allowing them to showcase their talents and helping to identify potential stars. We need more initiatives like this to promote various sports and recognize emerging talent.”
He also mentioned the upcoming 2027 World Para Athletics Championships as a crucial goal, emphasizing the need to qualify for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
“The World Championships next year will be a stepping stone for us to secure our place in the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games,” he concluded.
