Who Is Mukul Choudhary?

Mukul Choudhary, a talented domestic cricketer from Rajasthan, was acquired by LSG for a staggering Rs 2.6 crore during the IPL 2026 auction after a competitive bidding war with the Rajasthan Royals. He made his first-class debut in January 2023 during the Ranji Trophy and followed it up with his List A debut in December 2025. Known for his explosive batting, Choudhary boasts a T20 strike rate exceeding 160 and has made a name for himself as a formidable hitter in the death overs.

Initially starting as a medium pacer, he transitioned to wicketkeeping and gained recognition for his aggressive batting style. His exceptional performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy sparked significant interest from franchises. Despite having played only seven T20 matches, he has accumulated 210 runs at an average of 42, with a strike rate of 165, proving his potential as a middle-order batsman.

During the 2025-2026 SMAT, he scored 173 runs at an average of 57.66 in five matches, showcasing an extraordinary strike rate of 199. Head coach Justin Langer has even suggested that Choudhary could become one of the most dangerous middle-order batsmen in India within months, thanks to his remarkable ability to hit sixes. Although his List A statistics have been modest, his recent performances have made him a player to watch in the future.
