Insights from LSG Coach Justin Langer on Mukul's Recruitment
LSG Coach Justin Langer Reveals How Team Scoutet Mukul Choudhary
Following Mukul's stellar performance, LSG's coach Justin Langer shared insights into how the team discovered Choudhary. He explained that Mukul was identified by the team's performance analyst during a training camp, which led Langer to pursue him during the IPL auction. "We noticed him at a training camp a few months back, and our data analyst Shrinivas insisted that we should acquire him. We were fortunate to get him," Langer stated in an interview with Faf du Plessis after LSG's victory.
LSG invested 2.60 crore for Choudhary, and the decision quickly proved beneficial. Langer praised Mukul's athleticism, noting that he runs between the wickets with the agility of Virat Kohli and possesses a game sense akin to seasoned players. "What stands out about him is his athleticism. His running is elite, and his understanding of the game is impressive, as if he has played hundreds of matches already. He has power, athleticism, and grace, which is a fantastic combination," Langer remarked.
While Mukul is still early in his cricketing journey, Langer highlighted that few players possess the finishing skills like Tim David or Andre Russell. "Mukul has grown up in a competitive environment where finishing games is crucial. At just 22, he has a determined look in his eyes, and his family must be incredibly proud of him today. This moment will be significant for his career," Langer concluded.
