Mohammed Siraj Voices Frustration Over Air India Flight Delay
Siraj's Disappointment with Air India Express
Mohammed Siraj, the Indian fast bowler, has openly shared his dissatisfaction regarding the delay of an Air India Express flight, labeling it as the "most frustrating airline experience" due to insufficient communication from the airline.
After a disheartening 408-run loss to South Africa in the second Test, which resulted in a 0-2 series defeat, Siraj was returning to Hyderabad from Guwahati. This defeat marks India's second consecutive clean sweep at home, following a 3-0 loss to New Zealand last year.
On Wednesday evening, Siraj expressed his frustration about the flight's delay, which was scheduled to depart at 7:25 PM, emphasizing the airline's failure to provide timely updates.
In a post on X, he stated, "Air India flight IX 2884 from Guwahati to Hyderabad was meant to take off at 7:25, but there has been no communication from the airline. After multiple inquiries, they simply delayed the flight without any valid explanation. This has been incredibly frustrating, and it’s a basic expectation for passengers. The flight was delayed by four hours, and we still have no updates, leaving us stranded. This is the worst airline experience. I would not recommend this flight to anyone who values their time."
In response to Siraj's public remarks, Air India Express announced on Thursday that flight IX 2884 from Guwahati to Hyderabad had been cancelled due to "unforeseen operational reasons."
The airline stated, "We regret to inform you that the flight has been cancelled due to unforeseen operational reasons. Our team at the airport is actively assisting all guests with the necessary arrangements. We understand how difficult this situation is, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding. Please be assured that our team will continue to keep you updated and extend all possible support," in a reply to Siraj's post on X.
