Mohamed Salah Returns for Egypt in FIFA World Cup Clash Against Australia
Salah's Comeback Boosts Egypt's World Cup Hopes
Texas [US], July 3 (News Media): Mohamed Salah has successfully recovered from a hamstring injury and is set to play for Egypt in their FIFA World Cup Round of 32 match against Australia this Friday. His inclusion is a significant advantage for the team, especially after doubts about his fitness earlier this week.
The Liverpool star participated in training sessions with his teammates leading up to the match and has been confirmed fit to spearhead the Egyptian attack, according to reports.
Omar Marmoush will join Salah in the starting lineup, taking the place of Mahmoud Trezeguet. However, Egypt faces challenges in defense, as left-back Ahmed Fatouh and center-back Mohamed Abdelmonem are sidelined due to injuries.
Karim Hafez and Yasser Ibrahim will step in to fill the gaps, while Hamdy Fathy has returned from injury to strengthen the midfield, alongside Marawan Attia.
On the other hand, Australia has opted to keep their lineup unchanged from the team that drew with Paraguay in their last group-stage encounter.
Head coach Graham Arnold has decided to maintain the same starting eleven, despite having made six alterations for that previous match. However, veteran forward Mathew Leckie remains out due to injury.
Australia's lineup includes: Patrick Beach, Alessandro Circati, Jordan Bos, Connor Metcalfe, Aiden O'Neill, Aziz Behich, Nestory Irankunda, Harry Souttar, Cristian Volpato, Jackson Irvine, and Lucas Herrington.
Egypt's squad features: Mostafa Shobeir, Mohamed Hany, Yasser Ibrahim, Rami Rabia, Karim Hafez, Hamdy Fathy, Marawan Attia, Mostafa Zico, Emam Ashour, Mohamed Salah, and Omar Marmoush.
