London [UK], October 7: Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has officially extended his contract with the club, following a remarkable season that saw them clinch the Premier League title. This new agreement will keep him at the helm until 2030.

In a statement released by the club, they expressed their excitement: “We are thrilled to confirm that Mikel Arteta has signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal. This agreement signifies our mutual belief that the progress we’ve made, along with last season’s achievements, marks the start of a remarkable era in our history.”

Arteta became the seventh manager in Arsenal's history to secure a league title, leading the team to their fourth Premier League championship and their first in 22 years. He also guided the club to the UEFA Champions League final, where they faced defeat against the reigning champions, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

The statement further noted, “Together, we aim to build on this success, striving for major trophies sustainably while enhancing the strong connection between the club and its supporters.”

Co-chairs Stan and Josh Kroenke remarked, “The journey has been incredible thus far, and we are eager for what the future holds in this unique relationship. Last season was a historic moment for Arsenal, filled with memories that will endure. We are committed to creating many more in the coming years.”

They added, “We share a special bond with Mikel and are immensely proud of all we have accomplished since his return in 2019. He embodies Arsenal’s values and understands what this club means to everyone involved, and he is dedicated to building on our shared achievements.”

Arteta expressed his gratitude in the statement, stating that he feels honored to commit his future to the club and to work alongside exceptional individuals who are dedicated to Arsenal’s success.

“This club is one of a kind, with a character that resonates deeply. I feel privileged that our journey together continues. We have already forged a special bond and created lasting memories, and what excites me is that this is just the beginning of our potential together. I am incredibly thankful to Stan and Josh for their trust and support, and I am honored to lead this club during such a significant time in its 140-year history,” he said.

Arteta joined Arsenal as head coach in December 2019, and his new contract ensures he remains with the Premier League champions until June 2030. Over his tenure, he has managed 362 matches across all competitions, boasting a win rate of 62.05%, the highest of any full-time manager in the club's history.

Following the international break, Arsenal, currently second in the Premier League with four wins and one loss, will resume their campaign against Leeds United on October 10.
