Mehidy Hasan Miraz Climbs ICC ODI Rankings After Series Victory
Bangladesh Captain's Remarkable Rise in Rankings
In a recent update from the ICC, Bangladesh's captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz has significantly improved his position in the ICC Men’s ODI Player Rankings. Alongside him, Pakistan's Salman Ali Agha and New Zealand's Mitchell Santner have also made impressive advancements.
Mehidy played a crucial role in Bangladesh's recent ODI series against Pakistan, where he took five wickets, helping his team clinch a 2-1 series win.
As a result of his performance, Mehidy has ascended nine spots to tie for seventh among ODI bowlers and has moved up two places to second in the ODI all-rounders category. Other notable advancements include Tanzid Hasan, who jumped 31 places to 55th, and Litton Das, who rose 10 spots to 82nd among batters. Taskin Ahmed also improved by 12 places to 28th, while Mustafizur Rahman climbed 13 spots in the bowlers' rankings.
On the Pakistani side, Salman Ali Agha made a nine-place leap to joint ninth among ODI batters and moved up three spots to joint 10th in the ODI all-rounders rankings. Shaheen Afridi also improved, rising four places to 25th among all-rounders after strong bowling performances.
In the T20I rankings, New Zealand's captain Mitchell Santner made significant strides following his impressive performances in the ongoing five-match home series against South Africa.
Santner, who showcased his T20 World Cup 2026 form, took three wickets and scored 35 runs in the first two matches, contributing to a series that currently stands at 1-1 with three matches remaining. He jumped 11 places to 13th among T20I bowlers and moved up two spots to joint seventh in the T20I all-rounders rankings, achieving a new career-high rating.
Additionally, New Zealand's Lockie Ferguson climbed 18 places to 51st among T20I bowlers, while Devon Conway rose four spots to 70th among T20I batters. From South Africa, George Linde jumped 11 places to 23rd for T20I all-rounders, and Ottneil Baartman improved by 23 places to 73rd among T20I bowlers.
