Liam Livingstone Excited to Join CSK
Abu Dhabi [UAE], November 8: England's all-rounder Liam Livingstone has shared his enthusiasm about becoming a part of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2027 season. He referred to CSK as a "massive" and successful franchise, expressing eagerness to don the iconic yellow jersey.
On Thursday, Livingstone was traded from Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to CSK as part of a four-player exchange between the two teams ahead of the new IPL season.
During the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2026, Livingstone spoke about his excitement regarding the transition, recalling his previous experiences playing in Chennai and the vibrant atmosphere of the venue.
"I’m really looking forward to it. It’s a massive franchise, and they have enjoyed great success over the last 17 or 18 years in the IPL. Having played there before, I can attest to the incredible atmosphere. The ground is a unique place to compete. I can’t wait to wear the famous yellow shirt and hopefully deliver some great performances for the CSK supporters," he stated after the United Tigers' victory over the Arabian Aces by 51 runs on Saturday, as reported by the Abu Dhabi T10 League.
As part of the trade deal, Livingstone, who was signed by SRH for Rs 13 crore prior to the IPL 2026 season, will now join CSK for a revised fee of Rs 6 crore.
Additionally, Australian all-rounder Jack Edwards has also transitioned from SRH to CSK, maintaining his contract value of Rs 3 crore.
In exchange, SRH has acquired left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed and Australian fast bowler Nathan Ellis, retaining their contract fees of Rs 4.8 crore and Rs 2 crore, respectively.
This trade signifies a new beginning for Livingstone, who aims to make a significant impact while representing CSK in the 2027 IPL season.
