During the second session of the fifth and final Test against England at The Oval, Indian opener KL Rahul found himself in a heated discussion with on-field umpire Kumar Dharmasena.


The altercation began when Indian bowler Prasidh Krishna exchanged glances with Joe Root after delivering a ball. The situation escalated as Root and Krishna traded words, prompting Dharmasena to intervene.


Rahul confronted the umpire, asking, “What do you expect us to do? Remain silent?” Dharmasena responded, “You would like any bowler to approach you.” In frustration, Rahul retorted, “So, you want us to just bat, bowl, and leave?”


Later in the match, Mohammed Siraj dismissed Joe Root for 29 runs off 45 balls, which included six boundaries. Both Siraj and Krishna ended up taking four wickets each.


As for the match's progress, three wickets from both Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna helped India regain momentum, with England concluding the second session at 215/7, trailing by nine runs on Day 2 of the fifth Test.

Prasidh Krishna claimed two wickets just before tea, dismissing Jamie Smith, the series' leading run-scorer, for eight runs, followed by Jamie Overton for a duck.


At the start of the second session, England was at 109/1, with Zak Crawley (52*) and Ollie Pope (12*) not out, trailing by 115 runs.
