KKR vs MI: A Thrilling Encounter at Wankhede Stadium

In an exciting match at the Wankhede Stadium, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are currently competing against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the second match of IPL 2026. Ajinkya Rahane, who is the captain of KKR, led the team during the toss and the initial innings. However, after the fourth over of the second innings, Rinku Singh took over the captaincy as Rahane was unable to continue due to an injury. It appeared that he suffered from cramps and required assistance from the medical staff to leave the field.

Rinku Singh, who was appointed as the vice-captain of KKR just before the IPL season began, stepped in to lead the team in Rahane's absence. In the first innings, Rahane had an impressive performance, scoring 67 runs off 40 balls, setting a new record for the highest individual score by a KKR captain against MI in IPL history.

After being asked to bat first, KKR made a strong beginning with a partnership of 69 runs between Finn Allen and Ajinkya Rahane. Allen contributed a quick 37 runs from 17 balls before being dismissed. Although MI managed to slow down KKR's scoring in the middle overs, a late surge from Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Rinku Singh helped the team finish with a total of 220 runs for the loss of 4 wickets after their 20 overs. Rahane was the standout performer with his 67 runs, while Raghuvanshi added a solid 51. Shardul Thakur was the most effective bowler for MI, claiming three wickets.
