Indian Duo Advances to Finals in Mixed Team Air Pistol

The Indian pair of Kamaljeet and Suruchi Singh made a remarkable comeback by securing a spot in the finals of the mixed team 10m air pistol event at the Asian Games on Friday. They achieved this after an impressive qualification round, especially following their earlier disappointments in individual competitions.

Starting with a score of 196 in their first series, the duo quickly improved, reaching a total of 391 after the second series, where they scored 195. With only 20 shots left, they were well-positioned for the finals. They concluded the third series with another 196, bringing their overall score to 587, which included 29 inner 10s.

The top four pairs qualify for the finals, marking this as India's last opportunity for a medal in the 10m air pistol events after a challenging campaign thus far.

In individual qualifications, Kamaljeet finished ninth, while Suruchi placed 26th, with neither advancing to the individual finals. Additionally, India did not secure medals in the men's and women's team events.
