Celebrating Success at the Youth Hockey5s Asian Championship

Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], July 26: Bijay Shankar Singh, the General Secretary of Hockey Jharkhand, commended the Indian women's hockey team for their impressive silver medal achievement at the Youth Hockey5s Asian Championship held in Muscat. He emphasized the significant role of five players from Jharkhand in the team and expressed optimism regarding their upcoming World Cup performance.

Singh highlighted the pride felt by the state, noting that half of the team comprises talented daughters of Jharkhand. He stated, “It is a source of immense pride for Hockey Jharkhand that five out of ten players hail from our state. Our daughters are set to compete in the World Cup, and I am confident they will excel. On behalf of our President, Bholanath, I extend my congratulations to these players, who will each receive Rs 1 lakh from Hockey India.”

Ashish Tani Purti, another player, shared his joy over the team's success and expressed eagerness for the World Cup. He remarked, “Winning a gold medal feels incredible, especially since this is my second time. It brings immense happiness to win for our country, and I hope we continue to receive support in the future as we have qualified for the World Cup.”

Shruti Kumari, also part of the Indian women's hockey squad, reflected on the team's unity throughout the tournament and their determination to improve for the World Cup. She stated, “We performed exceptionally well, supporting each other throughout. Bringing home the silver medal was a great achievement, and we learned valuable lessons. Although we faced China in the final match, we are committed to working harder for the World Cup and aim to secure the gold medal.”

The Indian Women's Hockey Team concluded the Youth Hockey5s Asian Championship as runners-up, losing 2-4 to China in the final match on Saturday.
