This achievement allowed him to surpass Glenn McGrath on the prestigious list of bowlers. Bumrah claimed the wicket of the England captain with his very first delivery, thanks to an exceptional catch by Axar Patel, which is being hailed as one of the finest in the tournament's history.

In a thrilling match characterized by high scores, Bumrah stood out as the only bowler from either team to maintain an economy rate below nine, concluding his four overs with figures of 1-33. His performance helped India secure a narrow seven-run victory, earning them a spot in the final against New Zealand on March 8 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
