Kishan, who hails from Patna and has connections to Nawada district, met with the Chief Minister at his office, where he was greeted with a ceremonial stole and presented with a memento alongside the cheque.

He described the ₹1 crore award as a token of gratitude for Kishan's vital role in the national team's success, emphasizing that local talent can achieve greatness on the global stage. Choudhary's post on X highlighted Kishan's contributions, stating, "Member of the Indian cricket team which won the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, the brilliant batsman, the son of Bihar, Shri @ishankishan51 Ji, was honoured by the state government with a cash prize of ₹1 crore for his crucial contribution in winning the World Cup."
