India's T20 World Cup Final Preparations: Superstitions and Special Events

As India gears up for the T20 World Cup final against New Zealand, the team is embracing superstitions and making strategic changes, including a hotel switch and pitch selection. Fans can look forward to a spectacular concert featuring Ricky Martin and special train services to accommodate the influx of supporters. Discover how these elements are shaping India's quest for their third T20 title.

Divine Blessings and Strategic Changes

A key figure in the Indian support team has been seeking blessings at every venue where the squad has competed. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the 'Men in Blue' have the best opportunity to secure their third T20 World Cup title.

In a notable move, the Indian team postponed its training session in Mumbai by 45 minutes before the semifinal to avoid any negative impacts from the Lunar Eclipse.

Ahead of the final in Ahmedabad, the BCCI has also switched the team's hotel. Although no one is officially commenting, it’s worth noting that during their previous stays at the former hotel, India faced defeats in two significant matches: the 2023 ODI World Cup final and this year's Super 8s against South Africa.

It's understandable that they want to ensure fortune favors them this time.

Pitch Selection for the Final

After their recent loss to South Africa on a black soil pitch, the Indian management may choose a red soil surface for the final. The Motera Stadium features all three types of pitches: red, black, and a mix of both.

In contrast, the Wankhede Stadium exclusively has red soil tracks, which could influence India's decision given their impressive batting performance on such surfaces.

The final pitch has yet to be confirmed, as broadcasters have not yet set up the stump cam on any of the pitches. Local curators have been closely inspecting one particular surface, and even BCCI CEO Hemang Amin was seen surveying the area.

Ultimately, this specific pitch was the only one covered, while four adjacent tracks were also cordoned off.

Musical Extravaganza Before the Final

Puerto Rican Grammy-winning artist Ricky Martin is set to entertain nearly 100,000 fans at the Narendra Modi Stadium, alongside 'Dandiya Queen' Phalguni Pathak and Bollywood singer Sukhwinder Singh, prior to the T20 World Cup final between India and New Zealand on Sunday.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has organized a musical show ahead of the toss, giving the audience a chance to dance to the rhythm of Martin's hit song 'Un Dos Tres (one two three) Maria'.

Special Train Service for Fans

Recognizing the high demand from fans traveling to Ahmedabad for this major event, Western Railway will operate a special train from Mumbai to Ahmedabad on match day. This initiative aims to provide a convenient and cost-effective travel option, especially as airfares for the Ahmedabad route have surged.
