India's Women’s Skeet Team Claims Bronze

In Nagoya, India achieved its sixth medal in shooting at the Asian Games, with the women's skeet team of Raiza Dhillon, Maheshwari Chauhan, and Parinaaz Dhaliwal securing a bronze medal. The team amassed a total score of 331 on Wednesday.

Each participant in the skeet event aimed for a maximum of 125 points. Both Parinaaz and Raiza scored 111 points, while Maheshwari contributed 109 points, leading to another podium finish for India.

Manu Bhaker Advances to Finals

In another highlight, double Olympic medalist Manu Bhaker qualified for the finals of the women’s 10m air pistol event after finishing third in the qualification round. Bhaker, who earned two bronze medals at the Paris Olympics, recorded a score of 579.

Esha Singh, however, finished 15th with a score of 572, missing out on the final, while Suruchi Singh placed 26th with a score of 568.

Close Call in 10m Air Rifle Team Event

India narrowly missed out on a medal in the women’s 10m air rifle team event, finishing fourth after a tie with Vietnam, both teams scoring 1719 but India falling short on inner 10s.

To date, India has secured five shooting medals—four silver and one bronze—yet the coveted gold remains elusive.
