Rotterdam [Netherlands], June 19: In a gripping encounter, the Indian Men's Hockey Team faced off against the reigning World Champions, Germany, but ultimately fell short with a score of 1-2 during their third match of the FIH Hockey Pro League 2025-26 in Rotterdam.


Jugraj Singh celebrated his 100th international cap by scoring in the 38th minute, but late goals from Justus Weigand (56') and Jakob Brilla (60') turned the tide in favor of Germany, as reported by Hockey India.


India began the match with strong momentum, effectively controlling possession and applying pressure on the German side. Their solid defensive setup limited Germany's opportunities to create significant chances.


As the second quarter progressed, India intensified their efforts with a high press, forcing Germany into mistakes. Abhishek nearly capitalized on a well-executed play, but the chance went begging.


In a match characterized by limited scoring opportunities, India maintained possession and finally broke the deadlock in the third quarter. After securing their first penalty corner, Jugraj Singh scored with a powerful drag-flick, marking his milestone appearance.
