India's Mixed Disability Cricket Team Set for Series Against England

The Differently Abled Cricket Council of India has announced a 16-member squad for the upcoming Mixed Disability Cricket Series against England. Led by captain Majid Ah Magray and vice-captain Sai Akash Saivamani, the team will compete in a series of seven IT20 matches from August 5 to August 19. The squad is currently training in New Delhi, with a support staff that includes experienced coaches. This series aims to inspire aspiring cricketers from the differently abled community.

Indian Squad Announced for Mixed Disability Cricket Series

The Differently Abled Cricket Council of India (DCCI) has revealed a 16-member squad for the upcoming Mixed Disability Cricket Series against England, taking place from August 5 to August 19 across various venues in England.

Majid Ah Magray will lead the team as captain, with Sai Akash Saivamani appointed as vice-captain, as stated in a recent press release.

The series will kick off with the first two IT20 matches at OurCoop County Ground in Derby on August 5 and August 7, followed by the third match at Uptonsteel Grace Road in Leicester on August 9.

Subsequent matches include the fourth game at County Ground in Hove on August 12, with the fifth and sixth matches scheduled for Arundel on August 15 and 16, respectively. The series will culminate with the seventh IT20 at the historic Lord's Cricket Ground on August 19, all matches commencing at 2:30 PM local time.

DCCI Secretary Ravi Kant Chauhan expressed pride in Majid Magray's captaincy, noting it as a significant moment for Jammu & Kashmir and the entire differently abled cricket community. He believes Magray's leadership will motivate many aspiring cricketers from the region.

DCCI Vice President Sumit Jain extended his best wishes to the team and support staff, hoping their performances will inspire more differently abled cricketers.

The Indian Mixed Disability Cricket Team is currently engaged in a training camp at Chhawla, near Dwarka, New Delhi, in preparation for the series against England.

Leading the support staff is former Rajasthan Ranji captain Rohit Jhalani, who has been appointed as Head Coach. He will be supported by Dev Dutt as Coach, with Rohit Sharma serving as Fielding Coach. Ramswaroop Saini will take on the role of Strength & Conditioning Coach, while Mayank Pushkar will act as the Physiotherapist, ensuring the players maintain peak physical fitness throughout the tour.

The squad includes representatives from various states: Majid Ah Magray (Captain), Rizwan Altaf Bhat, and Hilal Ahmad Wani from Jammu & Kashmir; Sai Akash Saivamani (Vice-Captain) and Sudarsun Elangovan from Tamil Nadu; Kuldeep Singh and Tarun from Haryana; Rajesh Irappa Kannur and Shiva Shankara Guntiganapalli Subbarayappa from Karnataka; and players from Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, Mumbai, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and West Bengal.
