The men's team staged an impressive comeback in the second half, overcoming Iran with a score of 40-34 to secure the gold medal on Saturday.

Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya also recognized the Indian men's kabaddi team for their historic ninth gold medal at the Asian Games after their thrilling 40-34 win against Iran in the final.

He celebrated their achievement on X, stating, "Absolute domination on the mat! The Indian Men’s Kabaddi Team secures a historic 9th Asian Games Gold with a thrilling 40-34 victory over Iran. Proud of our champions!"

Women's Team Success

Mandaviya further praised the Indian women's kabaddi team for their gold medal win at the Asian Games 2026, highlighting their successful title defense against Iran in the final.

In another post on X, he wrote, "GOLD FOR BHARAT! Heartiest congratulations to the Indian Women’s Kabaddi Team on successfully defending their Asian Games title, defeating Iran in a Gold Medal Match at the Asian Games 2026."
