Elavenil and Parth's Performance in Mixed Team Final

In the 10m air rifle mixed team final at the Asian Games 2026, held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, India's Elavenil Valarivan and Parth Mane secured a fourth-place finish, narrowly missing out on a medal with a total score of 376.3 points on Tuesday.

The Indian duo began the final in fourth position after the initial series, accumulating 103.6 points from their first ten shots. China was in the lead with 107.2 points, followed by South Korea at 104.9 and Japan at 103.9.

After 20 shots, Elavenil and Parth maintained their fourth place with a score of 207.9 points, trailing South Korea by just 1.3 points. China continued to dominate with 211.9 points.

Their standing remained unchanged after the third series, as they recorded 312.3 points, with China leading at 315.7, followed by Japan at 314.9 and South Korea at 314.3.

Ultimately, Elavenil and Parth were eliminated, finishing fourth with 376.3 points.

Earlier, the Indian pair had performed well in the qualification round, finishing second with a score of 634.9 points, while China set a world record with 638.9 points.

In other events, India faced a 0-3 defeat against Malaysia in the men's team regu Group B competition in sepak takraw.

The Indian team lost their final match against Malaysia with scores of 11-15 and 5-15, resulting in a 3-0 overall loss.

India had previously lost to Japan and still has a match against the Philippines, making their path to progression from Group B challenging.

In swimming, India's men's 4x100m medley relay team, consisting of Rishabh Das, Akash Mani, Benediction Beniston, and Dhanush Suresh, finished fourth in their heat, qualifying for the final as the seventh-best team overall.

In kabaddi, India triumphed over South Korea with a score of 63-31 in Group A, while Jay Meena won against Pakistan's Hussain Arain 4-0 in men's singles soft tennis. Aadhya Tiwari, however, lost 1-4 to Thailand's Alisha Ziegler in women's singles.

In wushu, Langlentombi Devi Hanjabam placed ninth in the women's Nanquan final, and fencers Sachin and Hemash Singh finished fourth in their respective pools in men's individual foil.

Aryan Nehra also finished fourth in the men's 1500m freestyle B final, while Chetan Bhatt lost in the bronze medal match for the men's 84kg kumite.
