Under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur, the team secured a resounding victory over England by 270 runs in a one-off match. This victory not only marked the Indian women's team as the first to win an international Test match at the 'home of cricket' but also represented the fourth-largest win by runs in the history of Test cricket. Notably, no women's team has ever won a Test match in England by such a significant margin.

Indian cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar, regarded as one of the greatest players in the sport, was present at Lord's on the final day. He addressed the team before the match commenced and later expressed his admiration on social media. "Every cricketer dreams of playing at Lord’s. Over the past four days, a new generation has lived that dream as women’s Test cricket made its debut at the Home of Cricket. Congratulations to the Indian team on this remarkable victory. Smriti’s poise, Yastika’s outstanding century, and Kranti’s five-wicket haul made this occasion even more memorable. Shubman Gill, captain of the Indian men's ODI and Test teams, also praised the women's team's achievement during a press conference ahead of the first ODI against England in Birmingham. "This is a proud moment for us. Our women's team has won a historic match at Lord's, and we all know how special it is to play and win at that stadium. Huge congratulations to them," Gill stated.

Mithali Raj, a former captain and legend of Indian women's cricket, took to social media to commend the team. "A complete team effort to secure a legendary Test win in England! Two names have been added to the iconic Lord's honors board in a single match.
