New Delhi, November 28: The Indian Women's Cricket Team for the Blind was honored by the Nora Solomon Foundation, the CSR arm of Chintels Group, following their remarkable success at the inaugural T20 World Cup for the Blind. The event, held on Friday, celebrated the team's unbeaten journey, showcasing their exceptional teamwork, resilience, and determination.

Chintels Group has shown its dedication to promoting inclusivity in sports by supporting Team India throughout the tournament, rewarding each player with a cash prize of Rs 1.00 Lakh. The Nora Solomon Foundation is actively involved in various initiatives focused on education, healthcare, and social welfare, as highlighted in a recent press release.

Under the leadership of Captain Deepika TC, the Indian team excelled in the six-nation tournament, which included competitors from Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Australia, and the United States, culminating in the final match on November 23 in Colombo.

In the final match, India restricted Nepal to 114 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs after choosing to field first. The Indian batters chased down the 115-run target effortlessly, scoring 100 runs in the first 10 overs. Opener Phula Saren scored 44 runs off 27 balls, while Karuna K contributed a quick 42 runs off 27 balls, leading India to victory in just 13 overs.

Saren was named Player of the Match for her outstanding performance. This victory marks a significant achievement for the Indian Women's Blind Cricket Team, as they remained undefeated throughout the tournament, securing the prestigious title.

India began their campaign with a win against Sri Lanka, followed by a 57-run victory over Australia. They also triumphed over arch-rivals Pakistan, chasing down a target of 136 runs in just 10.2 overs.
