New Additions to India's U19 Squad

In a recent announcement, Aryan Savsani from Saurashtra and Tanmay Baloda from Haryana have been included in India's Under-19 teams for the upcoming home series against Australia U19. They replace Rohit Yadav, who has been removed from both the One-Day and Multi-Day squads due to age-related issues.

The Junior Cricket Committee of the BCCI has appointed Savsani to take Rohit's place in the One-Day squad, while Baloda steps in for the Multi-Day matches. Rohit was withdrawn after the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) discovered discrepancies in his age during a pre-season documentation review.

Initially, Rohit was part of the U19 squads for the series, which consists of three One-Day matches and two Multi-Day games set to take place in Rajkot and Ahmedabad.

The CAB found that Rohit had an age discrepancy of 27 months, leading to a two-year ban. He had previously participated in India's U19 tour of Sri Lanka in July.

The One-Day matches are scheduled in Rajkot from September 18 to 23, with the first Multi-Day match also taking place there. The second Multi-Day fixture will be held in Ahmedabad, running from September 27 to October 8.

Recently, the India U19 team secured a 1-0 victory in a two-match Youth Test series but faced a 1-2 defeat in the three-match Youth ODI series during their tour of Sri Lanka in July 2026.

The updated One-Day squad will be captained by Lakshya Raichandani, with Yashbardhan Chauhan serving as vice-captain. Notable players include Aaryavir Sehwag and Anvay Dravid, sons of cricket legends Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid.

Aaryavir played for the West Delhi Lions in the Delhi Premier League, scoring 24 runs in two innings. Anvay has already made two youth ODI appearances for India, accumulating 101 runs with a top score of 87 against Sri Lanka in Hambantota.

Vineet, Kushagra Ojha, Arjun Rajput, Manal Chauhan, Anvay Dravid (WK), V. Yashveer, Shavin Vinodh, Mohit Ulva, Chigurupati Venkata, Kavya Patel, and Aryan Savsani.

For the Multi-Day matches, the updated squad is: Yashbardhan Chauhan (C), Lakshya Raichandani (VC), Sagar Virk, Kushagra Ojha, Manal Chauhan, Kush Patel, Manav Krishna (WK), Abhipray Biswas (WK), Ishan Om, Ayaan Akram, Pranav Ragavendra, Priyanshu Singh, Mohit Ulva, Aryan Yadav, and Tanmay Baloda.
