On September 22, the Indian men's cricket team is set to compete against Japan in a T20 International match, commemorating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.


This match will serve as a crucial opportunity for the Indian squad to gain match experience ahead of their participation in the Asian Games, which will take place in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) expressed their excitement, stating, 'The Japan Cricket Association (JCA) and BCCI are thrilled to announce that the men's teams from both countries will engage in a T20 International to kick off the celebrations of this significant milestone.'


The contest will be held at the Sano International Cricket Ground located in Tochigi Prefecture, with both teams vying for the prestigious Suzuki Cup.


Furthermore, the match marks the beginning of the 'Sport 75' initiative, which emerged from discussions between Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
