Outstanding Performances by Indian Shooters

In a remarkable display of skill, teenage shooter Himanshu Dhillon secured a silver medal, while former world champion Rudrankksh Patil earned a bronze in the men's 10m air rifle event at the Asian Games on Monday.

These individual accolades followed closely after India claimed silver in the men's 10m air rifle team competition just an hour earlier.

The trio of Rudrankksh, Dhillon, and Parth Mane achieved a combined score of 1890.1, finishing second to the Chinese team.

With these three medals, India's shooting tally has now reached five at the event.

The Indian shooters had kicked off their campaign with two silver medals in the women's 10m air rifle on Sunday.

Overall, India's medal count at the Asian Games has risen to six, which includes a bronze medal from Suchika Tariyal in the women's traditional 60kg mixed martial arts category.

Dhillon, aged 20, scored 252.4 points, placing him behind China's Lihao Sheng, who took gold with a score of 254.2. Rudrankksh, who had been leading at various points, ultimately finished third with 230.9.

Rudrankksh started strong, engaging in an exciting contest with Lihao early in the final. By the end of the second series, he had an aggregate of 106.0, while Lihao was at 104.9 and Dhillon at 104.8.

However, Rudrankksh faltered in the sixth series of Stage 2, scoring a 9.7, while Dhillon excelled with a 10.6, allowing him to secure his second silver medal at these Asian Games.
