With a total of 65 medals, including 10 gold, 23 silver, and 32 bronze, India maintained its position within the top-10 of the medal standings.

Sailing and Wrestling Highlights

Kerala cousins Prince Kurisinkal Noble and Manu Francis sparked early celebrations for India by securing a silver medal in the men's skiff sailing event, finishing behind China and ahead of Hong Kong. This marked India's first sailing medal in this edition of the Games.

In the women's skiff competition, the duo of Harshita Tomar and Shital Verma earned a bronze medal.

Later in the day, Nitesh Siwach (97kg) faced Japan's Yuri Nakazato in the Greco-Roman wrestling final, ultimately settling for silver, a rare achievement for India in this discipline.

Squash and Archery Results

Both the men's and women's squash teams concluded their campaigns with bronze medals after losing in the semifinals, alongside compound archer Ganesh Mani Ratnam Thirumuru.

Anahat Singh, Joshana Chinappa, Tanvi Khanna, and Shameena Riaz were eliminated after a close match against Hong Kong, with Anahat unable to convert four match points.

Ganesh, however, redeemed himself by winning the bronze in the men's individual event, defeating Vietnam's Cong Duc Dang with a score of 149-144.

Cricket Triumphs

The Indian T20 cricket team, led by Shreyas Iyer, faced Sri Lanka in the semifinals with limited preparation. Nevertheless, they posted a formidable score of 169/7 and bowled out Sri Lanka for a mere 45 runs, securing their place in the finals.

Ishan Kishan played a pivotal role with an impressive unbeaten 80 runs, while Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel each took two wickets.

India will now face Pakistan in the final, following Pakistan's victory over Bangladesh in the other semifinal.

Hockey Semifinal Drama

In a thrilling semifinal, the Indian men's hockey team narrowly defeated Pakistan 4-3, with Abhishek scoring the decisive goal just 45 seconds before the end.

Harmanpreet Singh scored two penalty corners, and Sukhjeet Singh added a field goal, but Pakistan mounted a comeback, scoring three goals in the second half.

Abhishek's late goal ensured India's progression to the final, where they will meet the winner of the other semifinal between South Korea and Malaysia.

Golf and Sepaktakraw Updates

In golf, Pranavi Urs delivered an outstanding performance with a seven-under 63, placing her just two strokes behind the leader, Shannon Tan of Singapore.

Urs's efforts also propelled the women's team into bronze medal contention.

In sepaktakraw, India secured a spot in the semifinals with a 2-1 victory over Myanmar, ensuring at least a bronze medal.

Tennis Disappointment

Unfortunately, India's tennis team will return without medals for the first time since 1986, as Sumit Nagal exited in the quarterfinals against China's Yibing Wu.

Other athletes in judo, cycling, and shooting also faced early exits despite promising starts.
