India Falls to England in Thrilling Men's Hockey World Cup Clash
India's Struggle Against England
In a challenging encounter at the Men’s Hockey World Cup, India faced a setback, losing 4-2 to a stronger England team during their second pool match on Monday.
England took an early lead with Nicholas Bandurak scoring in the 13th minute. However, India quickly responded, with captain Harmanpreet Singh netting a goal in the 16th minute, followed by Dilpreet Singh's strike in the 24th minute, giving India a 2-1 advantage.
The second half saw a shift in momentum as England dominated the play. Stuart Rushmere found the back of the net in the 38th minute, and Henry Croft added another goal in the 42nd minute.
Bandurak sealed the victory for England with his second goal in the 54th minute, concluding the match at 4-2.
Currently, India has accumulated three points from two matches and must secure at least a draw or a win against Pakistan, who have one point from two games, in their upcoming pool match on Wednesday to advance to the next round.
A defeat against Pakistan would eliminate India from the tournament, following their earlier victory over Wales, where they won 3-1.
