India's Kabaddi Triumph Over South Korea

In a remarkable display of skill, the Indian kabaddi team, the reigning champions, secured a decisive 63-31 victory against South Korea during their second Group A match at the Asian Games 2026 held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on September 22.

India showcased an impressive performance in the first half, leading 34-14 at halftime. They executed two all-outs against South Korea, with the second occurring just before the break.

Continuing their dominance in the second half, India maintained their lead and finished the match with a substantial 32-point margin, marking their second consecutive win in Group A.

In their opening match, India had previously triumphed over Japan with a score of 49-24. Although Japan put up a stronger fight in the second half, India controlled the game effectively to secure a comfortable win.

Next, India is set to face Bangladesh in their upcoming Group A match at the Tokai Citizen Gymnasium.

In other events, Indian athletes Elavenil Valarivan and Parth Mane advanced to the gold medal match in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team qualification, finishing second with a score of 634.9, surpassing the Asian record. China led the qualification with a new world record score of 638.9.

The final format has been updated this year, allowing all four qualified teams to compete simultaneously, similar to individual events, with periodic eliminations.

In soft tennis, Jay Meena achieved a 4-0 victory against Pakistan's Hussain Arain in men's singles Group D, while Aadhya Tiwari faced a 1-4 defeat against Thailand's Alisha Ziegler in women's singles Group D. Additionally, Langlentombi Devi Hanjabam from Wushu finished ninth in the women's Nanquan final.
