India Dominates Pakistan in Women's Junior Asia Cup Quarterfinal

Moqi (China), Sep 10: In a stunning display of skill, India triumphed over Pakistan with a staggering score of 19-0 in the quarterfinals of the 2026 Women’s Junior Asia Cup on Thursday, moving closer to securing their third consecutive title.

The defending champions wasted no time, with Puja Sahoo scoring the first goal just seven minutes into the match. Roshni Aind quickly followed, doubling the lead within two minutes, and from there, India unleashed a relentless offensive that left Pakistan unable to cope.

In a remarkable five-minute span, India netted four additional goals. Tanushree Dinesh Kadu and Sukhveer Kaur found the back of the net in the 11th and 13th minutes, respectively, with Sanika Chandrakant Mane also scoring in that same minute. Madhu Sidar and Geeta Yadav contributed to the growing tally before Mane scored her second goal in the 23rd minute.

With Tanuja Toppo and Pooja Malik adding to the score, Purnima Yadav’s goal in the 33rd minute ensured India went into halftime with an incredible 10-0 advantage.

The second half saw no decrease in intensity. Madhu Sidar scored again in the 39th minute, followed by Supriya just a minute later. Malik showcased her talent by completing a hat-trick with goals in the 49th and 51st minutes.

Further goals from Krishna Sharma and Binima Dhan kept the pressure on, with Supriya scoring again in the 54th minute, and Roshni capped off the extraordinary performance with her second goal in the final moments of the match.

This impressive 19-goal performance came after India had already shown their dominance in the group stage, finishing at the top with victories against Japan, Malaysia, and South Korea.

India now awaits the outcome of the South Korea-Malaysia quarterfinal to determine their opponent in the semifinals. This victory places the reigning champions just two wins away from achieving a hat-trick of Junior Women’s Asia Cup titles, having previously won in 2023 and 2024.

For Pakistan, the match quickly became one-sided, with India’s continuous attacking strategy resulting in goals throughout all four quarters.
