This victory marked a significant milestone for India, as they became the first team to successfully defend the T20 World Cup title. Sanju Samson's Stellar Performance

Sanju Samson Shines For India

Sanju Samson was awarded the player of the tournament for his exceptional contributions. After being omitted from the playing XI in earlier matches, he made a remarkable comeback, scoring 97*, 86, and 89 in his last three innings. Reflecting on his journey, Samson mentioned that he sought guidance from Sachin Tendulkar during challenging times. "Feels like a dream. Out of words. Still trying to process my emotions. This started with the 2024 team when I couldn't play a game. I kept on visualising, I kept on dreaming, this is exactly what I wanted to do this. I knew I had to work hard to become good enough. After the New Zealand match, I was broken, feeling my dream was shattered again. But god had different plans. Extremely happy for having the courage to dream. For the last two months, I have been in constant touch with Sachin Tendulkar sir. He has given me clarity, game sense, and preparation. I am thankful. He called last night as well," said Samson.
