India Clinches ICC Men's T20 World Cup Title Again with Dominant Victory

In a spectacular display of cricket, India has successfully defended its ICC Men's T20 World Cup title by defeating New Zealand by 96 runs. India Triumphs in T20 World Cup Final

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], March 9: Rajeev Shukla, the Vice-President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), praised the Indian cricket team, led by Suryakumar Yadav, for successfully defending their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup title. They achieved this remarkable feat by defeating New Zealand by 96 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium.


In a statement after India's victory, Shukla emphasized that this back-to-back World Cup win showcases the strength and prowess of the current Indian squad on the international cricket scene.


“This marks our consecutive World Cup win. Team India has established itself as a formidable force in international cricket. We are currently ranked number one, and our players are capable of competing against and defeating any team globally,” Shukla remarked.


Former Indian cricketer Kedar Jadhav also extended his congratulations, stating, “I congratulate the Indian team for winning the T20 World Cup.”


In the final match, after winning the toss, New Zealand opted to field first. India set a formidable target of 255 runs, thanks to impressive performances from Samson (89 runs off 46 balls, including five fours and eight sixes), Abhishek Sharma (52 runs off 21 balls, with six fours and three sixes), Ishan Kishan (54 runs off 25 balls, featuring four boundaries and four sixes), and Shivam Dube (26 not out off 8 balls, with three fours and two sixes).


Despite a strong fifty from Tim Seifert (52 runs off 26 balls, with two fours and five sixes), the Kiwis succumbed to the exceptional bowling of Axar (3 wickets for 27 runs) and Bumrah (4 wickets for 15 runs). This victory marks India’s third T20 World Cup title, making them the first team to defend the championship and the first host nation to win the trophy.
