India Clinches Historic T20 World Cup Victory Against New Zealand

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], March 9: Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed his congratulations to the Indian cricket team following their impressive win in the T20 World Cup final, where they triumphed over New Zealand on Sunday in Ahmedabad.
The match showcased a stellar performance from India's top-order batsmen, including Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, and Ishan Kishan, complemented by outstanding bowling from Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel. This combination led Team India to a remarkable victory, defeating New Zealand by 96 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
With this win, India has made history as the first team to secure the T20 World Cup title on home soil, the first to achieve back-to-back titles, and the first to claim three T20 World Cup championships.

During the match, after winning the toss, New Zealand opted to field first. Samson scored an impressive 89 runs off 46 balls, while Abhishek Sharma contributed 52 runs from 21 balls, and Ishan Kishan added 54 runs from 25 balls. Shivam Dube also made a quickfire 26 runs off just 8 balls, propelling India to a total of 255/5.
Despite Tim Seifert's fifty (52 runs off 26 balls), the Kiwis fell short against the exceptional bowling of Axar (3 wickets for 27 runs) and Bumrah (4 wickets for 15 runs), as the Men in Blue secured their third T20 World Cup title, becoming the first team to defend the title and the first host nation to win the trophy.
