India Announces U19 Squad for ACC Asia Cup 2025
India's U19 Team Set for Asia Cup Challenge
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], November 28: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially revealed the men's U19 squad for the upcoming Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Asia Cup.
Leading the 15-member team is Ayush Mhatre, who has been appointed as the captain, while Vihaan Malhotra will serve as the vice-captain for the tournament.
According to a statement from the BCCI, "The Junior Cricket Committee has finalized the India U19 squad for the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup, scheduled to be held in Dubai starting December 12."
Among the selected players is 14-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, a rising star from Bihar, currently participating in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2025.
The BCCI has also included four standby players: Rahul Kumar, Hemchudeshan J, BK Kishore, and Aditya Rawat, to support the team during the eight-nation tournament in Dubai.
In the 2025 U19 Asia Cup, India is placed in Group A alongside Pakistan, with the remaining two teams to be determined after the qualifiers.
The ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup Qualifiers 2025 features 14 competing teams, including Bahrain, Hong Kong, Iran, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand, and the UAE, vying for three spots in the main event. The top two teams and the third-place finisher will advance to the tournament.
India's U19 squad for the Asia Cup includes: Ayush Mhatre (C), Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Vihaan Malhotra (VC), Vedant Trivedi, Abhigyan Kundu (WK), Harvansh Singh (WK), Yuvraj Gohil, Kanishk Chouhan, Khilan Patel, Naman Pushpak, D Deepesh, Henil Patel, Udhav Mohan, Aaron George, and Kishan Kumar Singh (pending fitness clearance).
Standby players are: Rahul Kumar, Hemchudeshan J, BK Kishore, and Aditya Rawat.
Group A consists of India, Pakistan, Qualifier 1, and Qualifier 3, while Group B includes Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Qualifier 2.
