India Aims for Glory on Day 13 of Asian Games 2026

On Day 13 of the Asian Games 2026, India is set to compete in various events, including boxing finals and a crucial women's hockey match against China. With multiple medal opportunities in archery, wrestling, and more, the Indian contingent is eager to enhance its medal tally. Key matchups include Lovlina Borgohain in boxing and the women's hockey team aiming for gold. India's Medal Aspirations on Day 13

On October 1, India is set to enhance its medal count during Day 13 of the Asian Games 2026, with a variety of events scheduled in archery, boxing, hockey, wrestling, cycling, canoe slalom, and sepaktakraw.


Three Indian boxers are gearing up for gold medal matches, while the women's hockey team is poised to compete against China for the championship title.


The recurve archers will also participate in both team and mixed team events throughout the day.


The women's hockey final against China is scheduled for 3:30 PM IST, where India aims to clinch the Asian Games title and secure a spot for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.


In boxing, Lovlina Borgohain will challenge China's Bao Ziyi in the women's 75kg final at 10 AM IST. Parveen will face Chen Nien-chin from Chinese Taipei in the women's 65kg final at 2:15 PM IST, while Ankush competes against South Korea's Kim Minseong in the men's 80kg final at 2:45 PM IST.


India's archery events will kick off with the women's recurve team facing China in the semifinals at 5:55 AM IST, followed by the mixed team against Japan at 8:20 AM IST, and the men's team competing against Iran at 10:55 AM IST. Medal matches will follow based on the outcomes.


Wrestling also presents medal opportunities, with competitors Dipanshi in the women's 50kg, Rajat Ruhal in the men's freestyle 125kg, Priya in the women's 76kg, and Sujeet in the men's freestyle 65kg.


In sepaktakraw, the women's quadrant team will take on Thailand in a group-stage match at 5:30 AM IST, while the men's quadrant team will compete in the semifinals at noon.


Canoe slalom will feature Shikha Chauhan and Hitesh Kewat in the women's and men's kayak cross events, respectively. In track cycling, Harshita Jakhar will participate in the women's omnium quarterfinal, while Harshveer Singh Sekhon and Vishavjeet Singh will compete in the men's madison final.


Golf will see Indian players Aditi Ashok, Pranavi Urs, and Diksha Dagar in the women's individual stroke play and team rounds, while Veer Ahlawat, Saptak Talwar, and Yuvraj Sandhu will participate in the men's events starting at 6:00 AM IST.


India's volleyball team will face South Korea in the men's 5-8th place classification match, and the women's rugby sevens team will compete against Malaysia.


With three boxing finals, a crucial women's hockey gold medal match, and numerous opportunities in archery and wrestling, India is poised for a significant medal haul on Day 13 of the Asian Games.
