The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the contenders for the Women's Player of the Month award for May 2026. The shortlist includes Pakistan's Gull Feroza, England's Lauren Bell, and New Zealand's Maddy Green, all of whom showcased remarkable performances in recent international matches.
Gull Feroza excelled for Pakistan during their ODI series against Zimbabwe, amassing 256 runs over three matches with an impressive average of 128.00 and a strike rate of 103.64. She began the series with a solid half-century and followed it up with two centuries, scoring 100 and an unbeaten 106, which contributed to Pakistan's clean sweep of 3-0. Her outstanding display earned her the Player of the Series title.
In the T20I format, Feroza also shone, accumulating 82 runs in four matches at a strike rate of 157.69. Notable performances included a brisk 37 off 19 balls against Zimbabwe and a quick-fire 32 off 15 balls against Ireland.
Meanwhile, Lauren Bell made her mark for England across various formats. The fast bowler emerged as the leading wicket-taker in the ODI series against New Zealand, achieving figures of 2/38 in the first match and 3/20 in the third ODI. Over these two games, she secured five wickets with an average of 13.40 and an economy rate of 4.36.
Bell maintained her momentum into the T20I series against New Zealand and India, where she took eight wickets in four matches, averaging 14.00 with an economy rate of 7.00. Her standout performances included 2/23 in the first T20I against New Zealand and 3/34 in the opening T20I against India, underscoring her vital role in England's bowling lineup ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.
Maddy Green also had a notable tour of England, delivering consistent performances in both ODIs and T20Is for New Zealand. In the ODI series, she scored 125 runs across two innings, averaging 62.50 with a strike rate of 83.33. Her contributions included a composed 88 off 107 balls in the first ODI and a quick 37 off 43 balls in the third match, which earned her the Player of the Series award.
Green continued her impressive form in the T20I series, scoring 93 runs in three matches at an average of 46.50 and a strike rate of 98.93. Her best performance came in the second T20I, where she scored an unbeaten 56 off 48 balls.
