Exciting Day 3 of the Hockey Championship

Hyderabad (Telangana), September 6: The third day of the 6th Hockey India Senior Men Inter-Department National Championship 2026 featured four matches in the pool stage, highlighted by an impressive 13-1 victory in Pool B, marking the highest score of the tournament so far.


In a dominant display, Punjab & Sind Bank overwhelmed the Defence Accounts Sports Control Board with a staggering 13-1 scoreline. Jaskaran Singh was the star of the match, netting five goals, while Hundal Araijeet Singh contributed four goals. Singh Sukhwinder and Yuvraj Singh each added two goals to the tally, showcasing a powerful offensive performance. Happy managed to score a consolation goal for Defence Accounts.


Punjab National Bank also had a successful outing, defeating the ITBP Central Hockey Team 6-1. Gursimran Singh shone with a hat-trick, and Panchal Prikshant, Naveen Antil, and Toshant each scored as well. Roshan found the net for ITBP.


In Pool C, the Central Board of Direct Taxes secured a narrow 3-1 victory over the Union Bank of India, with captain Karthi S completing a hat-trick to lead his team to victory. Babu Venkati Metkar scored for Union Bank.


Pool D saw another significant win, as the Central Industrial Security Force triumphed over Canara Bank with an 8-1 score. Khan Fahad and Govind Singh Bisht each scored twice, while Nithin, Raman, Singh Vishaljit, and Mahakdeep Singh also contributed goals. Aryan Uthappa Mt scored the lone goal for Canara Bank.
