Exciting Launch of the Hockey India League Promo

New Delhi, November 21: Hockey India has officially launched the promotional campaign for the upcoming 2025/26 season of the Hockey India League (HIL), introducing a dynamic new tagline, “Big. Is. Back.”


This initiative reflects the league's ambition to enhance creativity, fan interaction, and overall engagement, supported by a revitalized brand identity aimed at reintroducing HIL with a vibrant and cinematic flair, according to a statement from Hockey India.


The creative vision emphasizes the sport's intensity and athletic prowess while showcasing the deep emotional and cultural significance hockey holds in India. The campaign will utilize various platforms to ensure it resonates with fans across multiple markets.

The return of HIL in 2024 marked a significant revival, with partners like Prasar Bharati and Sony Sports Network contributing to an impressive cumulative viewership of 40.8 million, a 48% increase from the 2017 season. The men's final attracted 3.07 million viewers, while the most-watched women's match garnered 2.92 million. Additionally, the league reached over 5 million viewers in 18 countries through television and OTT platforms. On social media, HIL achieved over 1 billion views across Facebook, Instagram, and X, with more than 3,000 content pieces.


The upcoming season's marketing strategy is comprehensive, designed to make HIL an unmissable event. Engaging animated films will highlight each franchise city, while large outdoor displays will generate excitement nationwide. A robust presence on radio, television, and OTT platforms will further enhance visibility. The revamped social media strategy will focus on daily storytelling, behind-the-scenes content, player highlights, and influencer interactions to keep fans engaged beyond match days.


Dr. Dilip Tirkey, Chairperson of the Hockey India League Governing Committee, stated, “With today’s promo launch, the countdown to the new season of the Hero Hockey India League has officially started, and it promises to be the biggest yet. HIL has been pivotal in advancing Indian hockey, and it holds significant value for both players and fans. Our strong marketing efforts aim to broaden hockey's reach and inspire future generations.”


Bhola Nath Singh, a member of the Hockey India League Governing Committee, added, “We are committed to ensuring that HIL’s return is grand, thrilling, and easily accessible for fans. This campaign injects fresh energy into the sport and guarantees an enjoyable experience for supporters. The anticipation for the league is building, and we are prepared for it.”


The league is set to enter this new season with a focus on expansion, innovation, and emotional connection, aiming to bring hockey to every part of the country and establish it as a central element of India’s sports culture.


The Women’s League is scheduled to take place in Ranchi from December 28, 2025, to January 10, 2026, while the Men’s League will occur from January 3 to 26, 2026, across Chennai, Ranchi, and Bhubaneswar.
