Los Angeles [US], June 28: Harry Kane has officially become England's all-time leading goal scorer in FIFA World Cup history, achieving this milestone during the team's final Group L match against Panama in New Jersey on Saturday. Kane scored his 11th World Cup goal, surpassing Gary Lineker's previous record of 10 goals.

Kane had equaled Lineker's record in England's opening match against Croatia, and he broke it with a powerful header in the second half against Panama, thrilling the crowd at New York New Jersey Stadium, according to statistics from OptaJoe.


In this crucial FIFA World Cup 2026 Group L encounter, England secured a 2-0 victory over Panama, with both goals coming in the second half. After a scoreless first half, Jude Bellingham opened the scoring in the 62nd minute, reacting quickly to a corner and finishing cleverly at the near post.


Just six minutes later, Bellingham assisted Kane, delivering a precise cross that Kane converted with a strong header, extending England's lead to 2-0 in the 68th minute. This goal also marked Kane's 18th in major international tournaments for England.
