England Football Team's Fun Evening at Kauffman Stadium

On June 19, in Kansas City, Missouri, England's football captain Harry Kane, along with his teammates, swapped their football boots for baseball bats for a fun-filled evening at Kauffman Stadium, home of the Kansas City Royals. This outing followed their impressive opening match victory against Croatia in the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The Royals graciously hosted the England squad, with head coach Thomas Tuchel participating in the pre-game activities by throwing the ceremonial first pitch before the MLB game commenced.

Kane took to social media to share moments from the event, expressing his gratitude for the experience. He posted on X, "Great recovery day with the boys at the baseball. Would love to give batting a go one day! Thanks for having us @Royals."

The official England account also expressed their thanks, tweeting, "Thanks for having us along, @Royals!"

This visit occurred just a day after England kicked off their World Cup journey with a thrilling 4-2 win over Croatia in their Group L opener at Dallas Stadium.

Kane shone brightly during the match, netting two goals that contributed to one of the tournament's most exciting games. He scored a retaken penalty in the 12th minute and added another with a header just before halftime.

With this performance, Kane achieved several milestones, becoming only the second England player to score in three different FIFA World Cups, following in the footsteps of David Beckham, who scored in the 1998, 2002, and 2006 tournaments.

Kane also matched Gary Lineker's record as England's joint-highest World Cup goalscorer with 10 goals and set a new record for the most non-penalty shootout penalties scored in World Cup history, bringing his total to five.

Despite Croatia leveling the score twice through Martin Baturina and Petar Musa in a thrilling first half, England surged ahead after the break. Jude Bellingham and substitute Marcus Rashford scored crucial goals, ensuring a convincing win for Thomas Tuchel's team.

Looking ahead, England will prepare for their next Group L match against Ghana at Boston Stadium in Foxborough on Tuesday (Local Time), aiming to build on their strong start and move closer to the knockout stages.
