In Bengaluru, Karnataka, the captain of the Indian men's hockey team, Harmanpreet Singh, recently expressed his admiration for cricket legend Virat Kohli after their meeting. He emphasized the shared mindset that elite athletes possess across various sports.
Harmanpreet took to Instagram to convey his respect for Kohli's unwavering dedication and work ethic, noting that top athletes, regardless of their sport, often share a similar approach to achieving excellence.
He wrote, "It was great to catch up with Virat Kohli paji. I have immense respect for how he conducts himself and the effort he invests in his game daily."
Despite competing in different sports, Harmanpreet pointed out that the fundamental principles of success remain consistent. He added, "Different sports, but the mindset is the same: stay disciplined, keep improving, and give your best for India. It was a good conversation with positive vibes."
Excitement Builds for IPL 2026
The excitement for IPL 2026 is palpable as it is set to kick off on March 28, with franchises preparing for another thrilling season of the league.
On March 11, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released the schedule for the initial phase of the 2026 IPL, which will run from March 28 to April 12. The tournament's 19th edition will begin with the defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), facing off against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
A total of 20 matches will take place across 10 venues, including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Guwahati, New Chandigarh, Lucknow, Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Hyderabad.
Following the opening match on Saturday, the Mumbai Indians will compete against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday.
The first double-header of the season is scheduled for April 4, 2026, featuring the Delhi Capitals against the Mumbai Indians in the afternoon at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, followed by the Gujarat Titans facing the Rajasthan Royals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Rajasthan Royals will commence their home games in Guwahati, hosting both the Chennai Super Kings and the Mumbai Indians. Meanwhile, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) will play their early home matches at the PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh.
Throughout the season, Royal Challengers Bengaluru will have five home matches in Bengaluru and two in Raipur, while Punjab Kings will host four matches in New Chandigarh and three in Dharamshala. The Rajasthan Royals will play three home games in Guwahati and four in Jaipur.
