Guwahati, Sept 28: As Guwahati prepares to host the second ODI between India and the West Indies at Barsapara on September 30, approximately 20,000 tickets have already been sold, with around 2,000 remaining available for purchase online, according to the Assam Cricket Association (ACA).

Parikshit Dutta, the vice-president of ACA, mentioned that the venue typically accommodates around 22,000 ticket sales and expressed optimism that the remaining tickets would be sold soon.

“Currently, we have sold 20,000 tickets. We generally sell about 22,000 tickets, and we are hopeful that the last 2,000 will be sold as well,” Dutta stated during a press conference alongside Traffic Police officials regarding match arrangements.

Food vendors will be present inside the stadium, and they have been instructed to adhere to the printed prices for all items. Dutta emphasized the importance of reporting any price violations.

“All vendors have been directed to maintain the printed prices. In case of any discrepancies, a neutral agency will oversee the food stalls. I urge attendees to report any such incidents for appropriate action,” he added.

For security purposes, spectators will only be permitted to bring wallets and mobile phones into the stadium.

The ACA plans to open Gates 5 and 6 approximately one to one-and-a-half hours prior to the match to facilitate crowd management.

Regarding entertainment during the match, Dutta confirmed that there would be no musical performances, which are typically reserved for IPL events. Officials from the BCCI will be present on match day.

Traffic Branch ADCP Mrinmoy Goswami noted that traffic regulations will largely mirror those from previous matches, with some adjustments to improve flow.

“Traffic rules will remain similar to past events, but this time, travel from Lokhra to Birubari will be more convenient due to the new Birubari-Lal Ganesh flyover,” Goswami explained.

Commercial vehicles, including rickshaws and e-rickshaws, will be prohibited on AK Azad Road, AK Dev Road, and the main route to Barsapara starting at 10 AM on September 30.

Restrictions will also apply to Mora Bharalu Road to prevent congestion, and roadside parking will be banned along the routes used by the teams.

Kul Basumatary Road will function as a one-way street, with no entry allowed from the Dhirenpara side. Vehicles with VIP passes must approach via AK Azad Road and enter through Gate 1B, while those with drop-off passes via AK Dev Road will drop passengers at Dhirenpara Tiniali, and those coming via AK Azad Road will drop at Barsapara Tiniali.
