Gurindervir Singh, a sprinter from Punjab, made history by clocking 10.09 seconds in the men's 100m final at the National Senior Athletics Competition. A remarkable event took place at the Birsa Munda Stadium in Ranchi during the 29th National Senior Athletics Federation Competition, where Gurindervir Singh, an emerging sprinter from Punjab, clocked an impressive 10.09 seconds in the men's 100m final. This performance not only established a new national record but also earned him a spot in the upcoming Commonwealth Games.


Hailing from Patial village in Bhogpur town, Gurindervir's outstanding feat has ignited celebrations throughout Punjab. Athletes, coaches, and sports enthusiasts are celebrating his success as a pivotal moment for Indian athletics.


Upon crossing the finish line, he proudly displayed a handwritten message that stated: 'Task is not finished yet. 10.10 seconds? Wait, I am still standing.' His final time was 10.09 seconds.


This gesture showcased not only his confidence but also years of hard work, discipline, and a champion's mentality. Sarabjit Singh Happy, a former coach from Jalandhar, commended Gurindervir's dedication and effort, labeling this achievement as a source of pride for both the state and the nation.
