Winnie Raman, wife of Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, has hit back at trolls after receiving abusive messages from her following India's defeat in the final of the recently concluded ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023. Australia won the World Cup title for the sixth time on Sunday (November 19) after defeating Team India by six wickets in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Despite entering the game as underdogs, the team from Down Under completely dominated the contest against a high-flying Indian team to win the World Cup for a record-extending sixth time.

Bowling first after winning the toss, Australia dismissed India for a modest score of 240 despite half-centuries from KL Rahul and Virat Kohli. For Australia, left-arm fast bowler Mitchell Starc took 3 wickets while Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood took two wickets each.

Vinnie Raman hits out at trolls:
In response, Australia chased down the target by losing 6 wickets in 43 overs. They were at 47 for 3 at one stage before a huge partnership of 192 between Travis Head and Marnus Lebuschran put the game to bed. Head top-scored for his team, scoring 137 runs off 120 balls with 15 fours and 4 sixes. On the other hand, Labuschagne remained unbeaten on 58 off 110 balls.

Hours after the win, Vinnie Raman took to Instagram to hit out at trolls who abused him with insulting messages for supporting Australia. For those who don't know, Winnie Raman is an Australian-Tamil woman. Urging trolls to stop sending her hateful messages, she wrote:

“Cut this and all the hateful vile DMs. Be classy…this might not be taken for granted but you can be Indian and support the country of your birth where you are brought up and the team your husband + your child's father plays for is more important.

"Take a chill pill and channel that outrage into more important world issues," added Vinnie Raman.
