Fakhar Zaman has been accused of violating the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) code of conduct due to his involvement in a ball-tampering incident, as reported by a local news outlet. The batsman faces a Level 3 charge under Article 2.14 of the PCB Code for allegedly breaching Article 41.3, which forbids actions that modify the ball's condition. This incident occurred during a tense match between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings, where Karachi required 14 runs in the final over. During a discussion among Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Zaman, the umpire noticed Zaman manipulating the ball. Following this, the umpire replaced the ball, and the Qalandars were penalized five runs, reducing the target to nine runs, which Karachi successfully chased.

The PCB has issued a statement indicating that Fakhar Zaman has denied the allegations against him. They mentioned that a follow-up hearing is scheduled within 48 hours, after which the match referee will announce his decision. According to the PCB, "Fakhar denied the charge during a disciplinary hearing led by match referee Roshan Mahanama. Another hearing will occur in the next 48 hours, after which the match referee will provide his verdict."

In the meantime, Pakistan's captain Shaheen Afridi was non-committal when questioned about the ball-tampering allegations.
