The batsman faces a Level 3 charge under Article 2.14 of the PCB Code for allegedly breaching Article 41.3, which forbids actions that modify the ball's condition. This incident occurred during a tense match between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings, where Karachi required 14 runs in the final over. During a discussion among Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Zaman, the umpire noticed Zaman manipulating the ball. Following this, the umpire replaced the ball, and the Qalandars were penalized five runs, reducing the target to nine runs, which Karachi successfully chased.

Another hearing will occur in the next 48 hours, after which the match referee will provide his verdict."
