Manchester [UK], January 5: The recent English Premier League (EPL) fixtures saw Manchester City and Chelsea end their match in a 1-1 stalemate. Meanwhile, Fulham managed to secure a point in a thrilling 2-2 draw against Liverpool, and Manchester United fought back to draw 1-1 with Leeds United during the ongoing 2025-26 EPL season.
With this result, Manchester City has narrowed the gap with league leaders Arsenal, accumulating 42 points from 20 matches, while Arsenal remains at the top with 48 points from the same number of games.
Chelsea holds the fifth position in the Premier League standings with 31 points, closely followed by Manchester United, who are sixth with an equal points tally. Fulham sits at 11th place with 28 points, while Leeds United is positioned 16th with 22 points.
In the match between Manchester City and Chelsea, the home team took the lead when Tijjani Reijnders scored in the 42nd minute.
However, Chelsea made a remarkable comeback as Enzo Fernandez netted a last-minute equaliser during stoppage time, resulting in a 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium.
Despite taking the lead late in the first half, City could not secure the win and consequently lost ground in the title race against Arsenal.
In another match, Manchester United came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against Leeds United at Elland Road.
After a lackluster first half, Leeds United's Brenden Aaronson capitalized on a defensive error from United to score in the 62nd minute.
However, Matheus Cunha equalized for Manchester United just three minutes later, leveling the score at 1-1. In the closing moments, Leeds' Noah Okafor and Joel Piroe had opportunities to secure a win but failed to convert, leading to a draw.
Fulham's match against Liverpool was equally dramatic, ending in a 2-2 draw thanks to Harrison Reed's stunning goal in stoppage time. This marked Reed's first Premier League goal since April 2023, saving Fulham from defeat at Craven Cottage.
Harry Wilson opened the scoring for Fulham in the 17th minute, but Chelsea's Florian Wirtz equalized in the 57th minute.
In stoppage time, Chelsea's Cody Gakpo scored a brilliant goal to give his team a 2-1 lead. However, Reed struck back just three minutes later with a spectacular 30-yard shot into the top-right corner, securing a point for Fulham.
