Changes to T20I Schedule

In a strategic move to enhance viewership from India, England has revised the start times for three of the five T20 International matches against India next month. This series, which includes five T20Is and three ODIs, is scheduled from July 1 to July 19. According to sources from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), the matches that were initially set to commence at 6:30 PM local time (11 PM IST) will now kick off at 5:30 PM (10 PM IST). This adjustment is expected to make the games more accessible for Indian fans, as they will conclude earlier, around two in the morning instead of three.

The last two T20Is are still set to start at 2:30 PM local time (7:00 PM IST) on July 4 at Old Trafford and July 11 at the Ageas Bowl. The decision was made following discussions between the ECB, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), and broadcasters such as Sky Sports in the UK and Sony Sports Network in India. This change highlights the lucrative nature of matches involving India for English cricket, as Indian viewership significantly influences scheduling choices.

With most tickets for the T20I and ODI matches already sold out, the enthusiasm for the series is evident.
