New Central Contracts Announced by ECB

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has officially released the updated list of central contracts and the coaching framework for the England Men's international cricket team.

This revised list now includes 30 players on central contracts, along with nine individuals receiving England Development contracts for the 2026/27 season. This is an increase from the previous year's total of 30 contracted players, according to the ECB's official website.

Among the new additions to the Central Contracts are Tom Banton, Sam Cook, Jordan Cox, Henry Crocombe, Emilio Gay, Matt Fisher, and Dan Lawrence. Additionally, Ollie Robinson makes a return to the list after previously holding contracts in 2022 and 2023. Fisher had been on an England Development Contract in 2023 and a Pace Bowling Contract in 2022.

Sonny Baker has received a two-year contract upgrade, while both Jordan Cox and Henry Crocombe have also secured their first two-year Central Contracts. In total, 11 players are now under two-year contracts.

New England Development contracts have been awarded to James Coles, Mason Crane, Ben McKinney, Liam Patterson-White, Thomas Rew, and Matthew Revis. Notably, Crane's selection coincides with his first call-up to the England squad in over eight years.

At just 18 years old, Rew, who led the Young Lions to the ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup final earlier this year, is the youngest player on the list.

Nine players from last year's contracts have signed extensions, ensuring their deals continue until September 2028. These players include Jofra Archer, Gus Atkinson, Sonny Baker, Jacob Bethell, Harry Brook, Sam Curran, Will Jacks, Joe Root, and Josh Tongue.

Meanwhile, Jos Buttler, Brydon Carse, Ben Duckett, Adil Rashid, and Jamie Smith are entering the second year of their existing two-year contracts, which will last until the conclusion of England's home summer in 2027.
