Diksha Dagar's Impressive Start at Jabra Ladies Open

Evian-Les-Bains [France], May 28: Diksha Dagar showcased a remarkable finish, scoring a 4-under 67, positioning herself as a strong contender after the first round of the Jabra Ladies Open on the Ladies European Tour.


The two-time LET champion began her round from the sixth tee at the Evian Golf Resort, combining consistent play with timely birdies, ending the day just one stroke behind the leader.


Diksha kicked off her round with birdies on the seventh and ninth holes, followed by another on the 15th. Although she faced a setback with a bogey on the 17th, she bounced back impressively with consecutive birdies on the fourth and fifth holes, concluding the day in second place as the first round progressed.


The Indian golfer has expressed her determination to make a significant impact this season, particularly at the Women’s Indian Open, and her performance in France highlighted that ambition.


Norway's Dorthea Forbrigd claimed the clubhouse lead with a 5-under 66, aiming for her first Ladies European Tour title, having recorded six birdies against a single bogey in her impressive start.


Denmark's Sofie Kibsgaard also had a strong opening, finishing with a score of 2-under 69.


Among the other Indian participants, Hitaashee Bakshi faced challenges, ending her round with an 8-over 79, requiring a solid second round to advance.


Avani Prashanth, still on the course, was even par after six holes, while Pranavi Urs was at 1-over after three holes.


With several players yet to start their afternoon rounds, Diksha's outstanding performance positioned her well for the remainder of the tournament.
