Delhi Government Supports Young Athletes with Monthly Stipend
Financial Aid for Young Athletes in Delhi
New Delhi, September 10: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that eligible athletes aged Under-14, Under-17, Under-19, and Under-21 who train regularly at Delhi Government sports facilities will receive a monthly stipend of ₹2,000.
In a post on X, she emphasized that this initiative aims to encourage these young athletes to maintain their training routines. "Keep playing, keep striving. Our government is committed to ensuring that the youth of Delhi receive the necessary support and opportunities to excel in sports," she stated.
₹2,000 per month will now be provided to eligible Under-14, Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 athletes training regularly at Delhi Government sports centres and stadiums.
This support is aimed at helping them stay consistent with their practice.

In related news, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) hosted a special send-off event for the Indian contingent heading to the Asian Games 2026. The games will take place in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4, where Indian athletes will compete against top teams from across Asia.
The ceremony was attended by athletes, coaches, support staff, and dignitaries, all rallying behind Team India as they prepare for this prestigious event.
The Asian Games will feature a diverse range of sports, showcasing the talents of Indian athletes on a continental platform.
