David Warner Surpasses Virat Kohli in T20 Centuries After Big Bash League Performance

In a thrilling Big Bash League (BBL) match against the Sydney Sixers, Sydney Thunder's captain David Warner achieved his 10th T20 century, elevating him past Indian cricket star Virat Kohli to claim the third spot for the most centuries in T20 cricket.
Warner has accumulated a remarkable total of 14,028 runs across 432 matches and 431 innings, maintaining an average of 37.11. His impressive record includes 10 centuries and 115 half-centuries in the T20 format.
Kohli, now in fourth place, has scored 13,543 runs in 414 matches and 397 innings, with nine centuries and 105 half-centuries to his name.
Babar Azam from Pakistan holds the second position with 11,737 runs in 337 matches and 326 innings, achieving 11 centuries and 97 half-centuries.
Leading the list is the legendary Chris Gayle from the West Indies, who has an astounding 22 centuries in 463 matches and 455 innings, amassing 14,562 runs at an average of 36.22, along with 88 fifties.
With this latest achievement, Warner also entered the exclusive 14,000-run club in T20 cricket, becoming the fourth player to do so, following Gayle, Kieron Pollard (14,462), and Alex Hales (14,449).
In the match, Sydney Thunder posted a total of 189 runs for 6 wickets in their 20 overs, with Warner leading the charge by scoring 110 runs off 65 balls, which included 11 fours and four sixes. For the Sydney Sixers, all-rounder Sam Curran delivered an impressive performance with the ball, taking 3 wickets for 28 runs in four overs.
In reply, Babar Azam contributed 47 runs off 39 balls, hitting seven fours. However, it was Steve Smith's explosive innings of 100 runs off just 42 balls, featuring nine sixes and five fours, that propelled the Sixers to victory, successfully chasing the 190-run target in 17.2 overs.
Smith's outstanding century earned him the Player of the Match award, leading the Sixers to a five-wicket triumph.
